About the Artist

I'm Kristin Taylor, the founder and artist behind Gildry. As a former actress and makeup artist, creating art is my true passion and craft. Though I no longer work in film & TV, my creativity has found a new home in Gildry.

Being neurodivergent, I often experience hyper fixation, which allows me to immerse myself deeply in my work and bring my creative visions to life. 

I've always been drawn to fantasy, a love that blossomed through countless visits to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival growing up.  Dressing up in elaborate costumes became a beloved tradition. However, as a starving artist, affording the beautiful pieces I admired was a challenge. This inspired me to start building my own pieces - ultimately leading me to create Gildry.

I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to own and cherish unique, artistic pieces without breaking the bank. My commitment is to bring you affordable, high-quality creations that capture the essence of fantasy and whimsy.

From the enchanting realms of scale and chain mail jewelry to the floral beauty of combs, barrettes, and crowns, Gildry offers a unique collection designed to bring a touch of magic to the mundane.

In addition to providing wearable art, Gildry is dedicated to giving back to the community. A portion of sales goes to support local Animal Sanctuaries in the Hudson Valley, helping to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.

I have a cat named Hemlock, two rats named Mayfly and Dandelion, and I live with  my husband Sam in the Hudson Valley.
